Gratitude for High River

With the changing of the seasons comes a change of perspective. With the advent of Fall, we start to work toward closing up for the season, getting our households ready to winter and squeezing the last drops out of the rays of sun as the days get shorter and the mornings cooler.

A few years ago, I started a personal campaign to seek out the good in every day. I called it a "Greatitude". It helped me set my intentions for the day and the gift is that every day since, I try to find something to be 'grateful' for that sets the 'attitude' for a Great day...hence the Greatitude was born.

Choosing to run for council has had so many gifts already from a personal perspective. I am grateful to have a beautiful town to want to represent, I am grateful for all the people who have worked hard before me to get us to where we are today. I am filled with gratitude for the people who have connected with me to show support, push my comfort zones, encouraged, called, emailed, texted and asked for a sign for their lawn and made time to connect. I am so very grateful for my husband, boys, parents, family and friends who have supported me this far and hope to cross the finish line where the real work can begin.

We have so much to be thankful for in High River. Our community is ready to grow forward, we have an abundance of spectacular beauty to enjoy on our trails and our wanderings near and not very far away. We have opportunity and folks who roll up their sleeves and pitch in with an indominable spirit. I hope you have loved ones near. I hope you can safely celebrate the spirit of Thanksgiving and I hope you can get out and enjoy a few minutes of beauty we are blessed to have all around us. Happy Thanksgiving!
